A brief overview of Athlete Tirunesh Dibaba Athletics Training Center

Our country won the gold medal of only two athletes at the Beijing Olympics in 2000. The government has given a lot of attention to the sports sector and the production of substitute athletes in quantity and quality has become a matter of urgency for the construction of the centers. Athlete Tirunesh Dibaba Sports Training Center has been established by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Athlete Tirunesh Dibaba Sports Training Center in Assela, Oromia Region, selected 250 athletes from all regions and city administrations in October 2012 EC and trained 21 coaches in the three athletics disciplines (running, throwing and jumping).

Since 2005, it has made and continues to make our country’s image known on the world stage by providing modern and scientific training including women’s and men’s football training, producing effective and replacement athletes at the national, continental and international levels.

As a result, sports ambassadors such as Hailemariam Amare, Jiksa Tolosa, Weinshet Ansa, Tesfaye Diriba, Zegeye Moga, Uto Ukelo, Aryat Dibo, Lingo Ubang, Lecha Girma, Ucha Girma He has produced youngsters such as Abise Kebede, Merhawit Tsehaye, Abise Kebede, Zinash Tesfaye, Deresse Tesfaye, Zinash Assefa, Utege Ubang, and so on.

Athlete Tirunesh Dibaba Sports Training Center is a training center established by the Council of Ministers under Regulation No. 294/2003 to alleviate and sustain the shortage of substitute athletes in the country.

The sports training center has recruited talented young people from different parts of the country and trained them in various sports to produce the best young athletes who are physically, mentally and socially competent for national and international competitions to enable the trainees to attend their regular education alongside the training. In contrast, there has been a lot of work over the years.

The center will train the trainees by participating in various competitions to evaluate the training being provided and enhance the competitiveness of the trainees through participation in competitions. In addition, by providing opportunities for different clubs to participate in the competition, they will be selected by the national team that will be able to represent the country in the various competitions due to their better competitive performance.

Accordingly, various national federations have been able to participate in annual programs and friendly competitions, and the experience of participating in competitions has been used as input for the training process.

In an effort to produce replacement athletes, 136 trainees have been selected for the national team and more than 540 have been transferred to the club.

In general, they have confirmed their successors by participating in national, regional and international competitions.
